Xmas panic?

I need to do a good general housecleaning in preparation for holiday entertaining- so what have I done? I emptied and rearranged the linen closet. Sorted through the basket of menus and other miscellany in the kitchen. I just considered going through the nearly overflowing drawer in my nightstand... Huh? These are not things that guests or even my husband would notice! What is going on in my head?
